Abstract

Hybrid multi-terminal HVDC transmission has better engineering application prospects. At present, the research of hybrid multi terminal HVDC line protection mainly focuses on the principle and algorithm, and lacks the systematic research on the protection configuration scheme. In this paper, two simulation models of typical hybrid multi-terminal HVDC transmission topology are built, and the fault characteristics of two kinds of hybrid multi-terminal HVDC transmission lines are analyzed. Based on this, the protection configuration schemes for DC lines under two topologies are proposed, respectively. At the same time, the coordination mechanism of protection scheme, DC circuit breaker action and converter control strategy is discussed, in which topology 1 is the main research object. It has certain engineering application value.
