Abstract

Araujia sericifera Brot. is an invasive weed, perfectly adapted to citrus orchard management in the Me diterranean area, above all under low input management. Hand wedding is actually the way of controlling this species, with a great lack of knowledge on its chemical control. The objective of this research, conducted in two different citrus orchards during two consecutive years, was to test the efficacy of the following herbicide active ingredients: flazasulfuron, oxyfluorfen and the mixture of florasulam + penoxsulam against the emergence of A. sericifera. It has been proven the great efficacy of flazasulfuron and the herbicide mixture florasulam + penoxsulam at least up to 20 weeks after treatment, while oxyfluorfen did not performed a good A. sericifera preemergent control.
