Abstract

In 1961, a group of valencian artists, asks the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid, the degree of academic merit. In 1765 the preparatory meeting for the creation of the Academy of San Carlos was established. It was appointed as directors of the Architecture Section Vicente Gasco and Felipe Rubio. The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos was founded in 1768. From then until 1846 had the power to award degrees in architecture, to deliver instruction, and from 1790 to exercise control of public architecture in the area of Valencia through the Commission for Architecture.
